I WANT YOU for Scouts BSA

Troop 4066 recently welcomed our future Scouts, sharing what it's like to join our Scouts BSA Unit. Many came from Cub Scout packs in the area, others were interested in camping and seeing how they can better their community. Our new recruits joined us in the opening flag ceremony, where we recited the Scout Oath and Law. Troop 4066 shared some of our favorite stories from campouts and Merit Badge opportunities. Joining our Unit is a great way to try unique experiences and make memories.

Scoutmaster Goedert had prepared an activity that allowed rising Scouts to bond with current Scouts. Equipped with a binder and headlamp, we all ventured outside to try identifying what tree species were growing in our town. We all compared different bark textures, leaf shapes, and seed pods with reference images. Identifying plant species is a great way to better understand the parts of a local ecosystem.
After our Scout biologists finished the activity, we all returned to find a surprise from our Scoutmasters; hot chocolate and whipped cream! We conversed with their friends and talked about all the helpful, informative, and fun events Scouting offers. If you or someone you know is currently in Cub Scouts or interested in joining, Troop 4066 is the perfect place to engage with the community and camp across the country. We made sure to send off our new recruits with firm Scout handshakes and a round of applause.
As our meeting concluded, Scouts shared their experiences with Merit Badges University. These occasional events are a great way for Scouts to grind out some Eagle-required Merit Badges or try a unique badge all in the span of a day. Every year we encourage Scouts to attend events like this one coming up in February. We finished the meeting with the closing flag ceremony and hope to see our new scouts join us soon. See you in 2 weeks!
