Troop Resources

Here are some of the most important websites to support everything we do in scouting. â€‹

  • Scoutbook An invaluable online portal and smartphone app that tracks every Scout’s service hours, camping nights, hiking miles, rank advancements, and merit badges.

  • Medical Forms - All attendees to Troop activities are expected to have a valid, up to date, BSA medical form (A & B) on file with the Troop. Form C is to be completed by your doctor before attending any event lasting over 72 hours.

  • Youth Protection Training This critical and required online component of adult volunteering is for everyone over the age of 18 and is valid for two years from the time of completion.

  • Troop Payments - All payments and fees may be made via Zelle directed to bsatroop4066@gmail.com. Scouting is for everyone and we won't let economic barriers interfere. For questions about financial support, contact us

  • Scout Uniform - Scouts are expected to attend meetings and activities in their class "A" uniform. Visit the online Scout Store for all essentials. You can also find a list of brick and mortar stores here

  • Packing List - Scouts may use this template created by our Troop to pack and prepare for a campout or day trip activity. Scouts are encouraged to start here and adjust as necessary.

Troop Policies

How we keep our Unit running and organized.

  • Youth Leadership - To hold one of the youth leadership positions, the youth will need to be at least 1st Class Rank for Senior Patrol Leader, 2nd Class Rank for Assistant Senior Patrol Leader, and Tenderfoot Rank for all other positions (not counting Patrol Leader).

  • Attendance - In order to be considered active in the troop a scout needs to attend at least 50% of troop activities (meetings and/or events and/or a combination). Special circumstances can adjust this policy and will be considered on a case by case basis.

  • Camping Tent Policy - BSA requires scouts to be no more than 2 years apart in age to tent together. Boy tents and girl tents must be on opposite sides of the campground. Adult tents should also be apart from scouts. Refer to Youth Protection and Adult Leadership on the BSA website for further details.

  • Service Hours - When Scouts are performing service they need to print out the below form, fill it out, and have the adult in charge of the event sign off on their work. When complete, turn into Scoutmaster and Unit Advancement Chair.  The form can be printed from here

  • Advancement - As a reminder for advancement from rank to rank, all service hours, leadership, active time in the troop reset when a new rank is achieved.

  • Patrol Leader Conference Expectations - If you are voted a SPL / ASPL / PL you are expected to help lead the troop. Attendance and participation in the Patrol Leaders Conference to make future plans is expected.

  • Communications - BSA requires two-deep leadership on all communications including emails and texts. If a scout needs to email a Scoutmaster or the Unit Advancement Coordinator they must copy their parent / guardian. Likewise Troop communications will always include parents / guardians if in an individual setting.

On my honor I will do my best to do my duty to God and my country and to obey the Scout Law; to help other people at all times; to keep myself physically strong, mentally awake, and morally straight.
A Scout is trustworthy, loyal, helpful, friendly, courteous, kind, obedient, cheerful, thrifty, brave, clean, and reverent.
